Faculty Websites

Creating your faculty or lab website:

UCI Office of Information Technology provides basic Wordpress sites at no charge.

• Request your site at: https://faculty.sites.uci.edu
• After you create the site, you can allow other researchers (grad students) to update.
• Custom domains like https://saunderslab.eng.uci.edu are allowed.
• This is your simplest option and it's usually preferred among faculty.​

Other options for faculty research and research group websites:

• UCI has Google Workspace for Education (also called Google Apps for Education, or G Suite) available and you can build websites there. More info:

  • https://gsuite.google.com/products/sites/
• For researchers who have already developed their own static HTML website, HSSOE can provide modest server file space for this for free.
  • This is less popular for new sites, but is an option.
  • Contact us at helpdesk@eng.uci.edu.
  • For security reasons, no CMS products or scripting in this environment.
  • Please use other services for general-purpose or large file sharing.
• If none of these options will meet your needs, OIT will support custom websites for a fee. More info:
