Install VPN on my home computer

If you need to connect to UCInet from off campus, the Virtual Private Network (VPN) is the solution for you. The VPN allows you to securely connect to campus computer systems by encrypting the information you are sending over the network, protecting your data.

Install the VPN

To download and install the VPN on your Laptop/Home Computer

Connect to UCI campus network

Verify the VPN is connected

Hover your mouse in the lower right of your screen. If you are connected, you'll see a lock on the Cisco Anyconnect software.

  • If it says: VPN: CONNECTED, then you are connected
  • If it says DISCONNECTED, then you need to re-connect.

Please connect with VPN before you login with Remote Desktop, every time
